What are the differences between TC4 and TA18 titanium alloys
Differences between TA18 titanium alloy and TC4 titanium alloy:
Both components:
TA18 titanium alloy is a kind of α Type I titanium alloy, titanium alloy TA18 is a kind of α Type I titanium alloy, composed of Ti-3Al-2.5V, has better weldability and cold formability than TC4, density of 4.47g/cm3, room temperature elastic modulus of 118-123GPa, phase transition point of 925 ℃, and hardness of 15-17HRC.
TC4 Yes( α+β) TC4 consists of Ti-6Al-4V, TC4 contains titanium (Ti) allowance, iron (Fe) ≤ 0.30, carbon (C) ≤ 0.10, nitrogen (N) ≤ 0.05, hydrogen (H) ≤ 0.015, oxygen (O) ≤ 0.20, aluminum (Al) 5.5~6.75, vanadium (V) 3.5~4.5, TC4 strength sb=1.012GPa, density g=4.51g/cm3, and specific strength sb/g=23.5.
Performance:
TA18 titanium alloy has better weldability and cold formability than TC4; TC4 has better comprehensive mechanical properties, good weldability, sheet formability and forging performance.
Application field:
TA18/GR9 titanium alloy ZUI is suitable for making high pressure resistant lightweight conduits on aircraft. TC4 is more widely used, and can be used for landing gear wheels and structural parts, fasteners, brackets, aircraft accessories, frames, stringer structures, pipes, etc.
TC4/GR5 titanium alloy is used to manufacture blades, impellers, etc. of jet engine compressors, and others, such as landing gear wheels and structural parts, fasteners, brackets, aircraft accessories, frames, stringer structures, and pipes, are widely used.
