Introduction to titanium spring:
The so-called titanium spring, as its name implies, refers to the spring products made of TC4 titanium alloy as the main material. Generally speaking, the spring is a mechanical part used to control the movement of parts, store energy and measure force
There are many kinds of springs, and titanium springs are only a small part of them. Due to titanium's light weight, high specific strength, strong corrosion resistance and other characteristics, titanium springs are widely used in chemical industry, ocean engineering, automobile manufacturing and other fields. There are many kinds of titanium springs: tensile titanium springs, titanium compression springs, torsional titanium springs, etc. The manufacturing methods of titanium spring are generally divided into cold coiling method and hot coiling method. The main material of titanium spring is titanium alloy wire. The cold coiling method is generally used for titanium wire with diameter less than 8mm, and the hot coiling method is used for titanium wire with diameter greater than 8mm. The heat treatment of titanium spring can be annealed and pickled according to customer requirements
Main material of titanium spring:
The main material of titanium spring is selected high-quality aviation titanium alloy TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 5). The cold coiling method is generally used for the titanium wire with a diameter of less than 8mm, and the hot coiling method is used for the titanium wire with a diameter of more than 8mm. The heat treatment of titanium spring can be annealed and pickled according to customer requirements.
Advantages of titanium spring
1. Titanium alloy spring has the advantages of small volume, light weight, excellent corrosion resistance and fatigue resistance. As the shear modulus of titanium alloy material is higher than that of steel, the number of coils needed to bend is less than that of steel spring. Even if the specific gravity of the two materials is the same, titanium alloy springs are lighter than steel springs because they use less materials. In most cases, the weight of titanium alloy spring is 60%~70% lighter than that of steel spring, and the height design of titanium alloy spring can also be reduced, which can be 50%~80% lower than that of steel spring.
2. Another advantage of titanium alloy springs is corrosion resistance. In the standard salt spray corrosion fatigue test, the fatigue life of general steel springs is 50% lower than that in air. In the same test, the fatigue life of titanium spring is only 4% lower than that in air. Moreover, unlike steel springs, titanium alloy springs do not require protective coatings
Type of titanium spring: titanium spring mainly includes tensile titanium spring, titanium compression spring, torsional titanium spring, etc.
Application field of titanium spring:
Titanium alloy springs are widely used in the following industries due to their light weight, corrosion resistance, good elasticity, long life and biocompatibility:
1. At present, titanium springs are widely used in bicycle, motorcycle, automobile and snowmobile competitions.
2. Chemical and petrochemical industry
3. Machinery manufacturing industry
4. Aerospace
5. Electronics industry
6. Medical industry
7. Daily life, entertainment products and other industries
The main functions of titanium spring are:
1、 Control the movement of machinery, such as the control spring in the clutch and the valve spring in the internal combustion engine;
2、 Absorb vibration and impact energy, such as sofa seat spring, buffer spring under the train compartment and vibration absorption spring in the coupling;
3、 The stored and output energy is used as power. The common ones are clock springs, mechanical equipment springs, etc;
4、 Force measuring elements, force measuring devices, spring scales, etc.
5、 Chemical filler
