The standard, material, specification, process, application and characteristics of GR2 pure titanium plate are introduced as follows:
Industrial pure titanium: Different from chemical pure titanium, industrial pure titanium contains more oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and a variety of other impurity elements (such as iron, silicon, etc.). It is essentially a titanium alloy with low alloy content. Compared with chemically pure titanium, its strength is greatly improved due to more impurities. Its mechanical and chemical properties are similar to those of stainless steel (but its strength is still lower than that of titanium alloy).
The characteristics of industrial pure titanium are: low strength, good plasticity, easy processing, stamping, welding, and good machinability; It has good corrosion resistance in atmosphere, seawater, wet chlorine and oxidizing, neutral and weak reducing media, and its oxidation resistance is superior to most austenitic stainless steels; However, the heat resistance is poor, and the use temperature should not be too high.
Industrial pure titanium is divided into GR1, GR2 and TA3 according to its impurity content. The interstitial impurity elements of these three industrial pure titanium are gradually increased, so their mechanical strength and hardness are also gradually increased, but their plasticity and toughness are correspondingly decreased.
The commercially pure titanium commonly used in industry is GR2, which has moderate corrosion resistance and comprehensive mechanical properties. GR3 can be selected when the requirements for wear resistance and strength are high. GR1 can be selected when good formability is required.
Industrial pure titanium is mainly used for stampings and corrosion resistant structural parts with a working temperature below 350 ℃, which are not stressed but require good plasticity, such as aircraft skeleton, skin, engine accessories; Seawater corrosion resistant pipes, valves, pumps, hydrofoil and sea water desalination system components for ships; Heat exchangers, pump bodies, distillation towers, coolers, agitators, tees, impellers, fasteners, ion pumps, compressor valves, diesel engine pistons, connecting rods, leaf springs, etc.
